Robert Swan - Order of the British Empire

When: Tuesday, April 22nd, 2008
Where: Portland State University - Smith 327-329 (joined rooms)
Time: 2:00PM - 3:30PM

Robert Swan will discuss his travels, the future of energy, the 2012 World Summit, and his mission to extend the moratorium on excavation and drilling in Antarctica past the current limit of 2041. Robert will be traveling to most of the world's major cities for the next four years to inspire students to effect change in their communities and the world.

Among his many accomplishments, Robert is the only person in history to have walked to both the North and South poles. He is reputed to be a very inspiring, lively speaker. His team has removed 1,500 tons of waste from and set up the first wireless research base in Antarctica. Each of the group's projects are powered by clean energy.

More information can be found at 2041 and Wikipedia. You can also view and download Robert Swan's "The Journey So Far" PDF document HERE.

This event is co-sponsored by ASPSU.
