July Newsletter

Environmental Club members & supporters,

Hope everybody's finals went well, and that summer is in full swing for y'all.

The last meeting went well
, coordinators for next year are elected and the Environmental Club logo is silk screened on several of our tank tops, t-shirts, and sweatshirts. This next year's coordinators are Lisa Meersman, Hanna Davis, and myself, PJ Houser. Our new position of Native Garden coordinator is filled by David Nokovic.

Summer is a slow time for the Environmental Club - there are a few activities, like the Native Garden Work Party (free pizza!) next week - but mostly, we'll be taking it easy until Fall term.

Native Garden Work Party with Hotlips pizza provided
Thursday, July 23, 2009
10 am - 2 pm
Free pizza, but bring your own drinks - and it could get hot!

Spring and summer have brought an abundance of life to the Native Garden, and now it's in danger of being overtaken by weeds. Come trim overgrown trees and pull insolent weeds with us next Thursday in exchange for free pizza. If 10 am is too early for you, come a little later. We'll be working until 2 pm or it gets too hot to continue. Wear clothes appropriate for the weather (and sunblock if it's sunny) and the activity - clothes you don't mind getting a little dirt on.

Where: Volunteers will meet with (2) PSU Recycles! Staffers at the University Services Building Loading Dock (SW 6th St & Harrison) for instruction. The luncheon is held in the SMSU Ballroom from 12:15-1:30pm.
